NEW PROGRAM
Park School of Buffalo Athletics Director Thomas Ford and head girls tennis coach Lynn Sperrazza are developing a varsity women's tennis program. The program has a no-cut policy in line with other sports at Park. Sperraza said the no-cut policy sends a message that developing young players, even the less talented and/or late bloomers, are important to the coach and school. Participating on a team helps create well-rounded student-athletes, develops leadership and teaches responsibility, discipline, teamwork and cooperation skills and can provide a positive and memorable experience that will benefit players long into adulthood, Sperraza added. The team recorded its first victory against Mt. Mercy, 5-1, on April 24. Members of the team are pictured from left: bottom row - Jessica Traub, Marta Plonka, Chelsea Coyle, Chloe Higginbotham; top row - Caralyn Mirand, Dajin Kim, Arielle Reed, Amy Lo, Lasia Baranowski, and coach Sperrazza.
