Environmental Club to give away trees on Saturday

The Williamsville North Environmental Club has an answer for those who lost trees during the October storm.

The club's co-presidents, junior Julia Marcusa and senior Jake Fortini, invite the community to stop by the school for the club's spring tree giveaway at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 19 at 1595 Hopkins Road.

Club members will be handing out 1-foot white pine trees, for a maximum of two per person, to the first 100 community members.

Enter the parking lot on the Hopkins Road side of the building for pickup. In case of rain, distribution will be in the cafeteria.

The trees are said to flourish in this area by adapting to Buffalo's weather patterns. They grow to be approximately 50-60 feet tall.
