Couple mark 50 years

Mr. and Mrs. John Oppitz

Martha and John Oppitz of Williamsville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

John Oppitz married the former Martha Jakob on May 14, 1957 in Bavaria, Germany.

John is a retired electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 41.

Martha is a retired custom drapery seamstress.

John is a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 416 and American Legion Jurek Post 1672. He enjoys golfing and works part time at Oakwood Golf Course.

Martha is a member of the Home Bureau and enjoys working out at the YMCA.

They are members of St. Gregory the Great parish.

They have two daughters, Theresa Tirabassi of Chittenango, N.Y., and Janet Price of Lexington, Ky., and six grandchildren.
