Sacred Heart
Amherst students inducted into National Honor Society

Sacred Heart Academy recently had 43 students inducted into the National Chapter of the National Honor Society.

Sacred Heart Academy had 22 seniors and 21 juniors selected by a faculty committee led by Martha Horohoe, foreign language teacher at the Eggertsville school. In order to be selected into the society, students must maintain at least a 3.6 cumulative academic average, demonstrate sustained service and leadership, and have a character recommendation from their teachers.

"These young ladies represent wonderful students academically, personally, and spiritually, and we are proud to call them Sacred Heart students. They are to be commended for their hard work and dedication along with their parents for the support and guidance they provide them," said Barbara Ochterski, head of school.

Amherst students inducted were Rachel Tucker, Amanda Jonas, Anna Monaghan, Rebecca Kujawa, Elizabeth Shea, Marissa Pontello, Ashley Illuzzi, Elizabeth Tramposch, Sara Melzer, Genevieve VanDomelen, Jenna Piecuch, Bridget Frohnapple, Margaret Duggan, Jackie Piecuch, and Alyce Schaefer.

And Williamsville residents, Jennifer Harb, Julianna Wojcik, Caitlin Hodson, Megan Ziemianski, Allison Borcuch, Anna Hoffmann, Heather Schmidt, Janine Myszka, and Mary Elizabeth Russell.
