South boys tennis ends week 4-4

The Williamsville South boys tennis team ended the week with a 4-4 record, picking up three victories and two defeats.

In addition, second singles Ankit Pandey, who had lost in a first set tie-breaker, turned his match around and won the second set, 7-5.

South's second doubles team of Joe Paul and Alex Miller made it to a tie-breaker but lost making the score 2-1 in the Billies' favor. Bounds and Zaprowski played hard but were unable to win their final set, evening the score at 2-2. Pandey picked a good time to get his first season victory, winning his final set 6-3 and giving South a 3-2 victory.

On Wednesday, May 2, South traveled to Hamburg for a doubleheader. Pandey, at second singles, and Bounds and Zaprowski, at first doubles, gave South its first two points.

After Hamburg had evened the score by winning first and third singles, all attention turned to second doubles where Patrick Wanamacher was making his varsity debut along with Paul.
