Man dressed six months early for Halloween

(Editors note: The Bee's police blotter is a sampling of unusual, sometimes humorous calls received by the police department. It is not intended to be a complete record of all incidents reported.)

Friday, April 27

+ A customer reported a manager at KFC on Transit Road refused to give her money back and she hadn't received any food. Both parties were advised, and the customer was given her food.

+ Police were called about four teens on Garrison Road that bought an apple from Great Northern Pizza and were talking about smoking pot out of it. The parents of the teens were notified to pick up the teens. No drugs were found.

+ An Oakmont Court resident reported that six bins full of garbage were taken.

+ A 15-year-old student at a school on Hopkins Road was found with 12 baggies of marijuana. The evidence was turned in and the school will handle the matter.

Saturday, April 28

+ A Sherbrooke Road resident complained that youths from a neighboring house were throwing fireworks at the complainant's home.

+ On Maple Road a man complained that a group of teens entered his running vehicle during his absence. Nothing was damaged or taken, but the teens used obscenities towards the complainant.

+ A group of teens were throwing ice from a grey Volkswagen Beetle on Youngs Road.

+ A car dealership manager reported that someone test drove two vehicles on Thursday, April 27 and removed air sensors from the cars.

Sunday, April 29

+ A group of four males pried off a manhole cover on Eggert Road and the complainant was concerned a car might drive into it.

+ A person fell out of a 10-foot tree on Tennyson Terrace. Emergency responders were called.

+ Two males, in their 40s, were acting suspiciously outside a store on Main Street and spit on the glass and called the clerks names and threatened them.

+ On Campbell Boulevard a man reportedly went through the complainant's yard with a handgun and five Rottweilers. The suspect then proceeded toward the woods.

Monday, April 30

+ A complainant said a limo went through a red light on Main Street and almost struck the complainant. The limo stopped at Williamsville South High School and the driver was advised. The driver reported being late to pick up a fare.

+ Someone reported finding a friendly dog, that smelled like cologne on West Klein Road.

+ Someone complained that five underage youths were drinking on a Marine Drive porch. Police found they were drinking Gatorade.

Tuesday, May 1

+ On South Union Road, near the I-90 overpass, a motorist reported seeing a large man wearing a skeleton costume. The suspect was gone when police arrived. The man was also spotted on Main Street. The second caller said he had a full black face.

+ Trouble was reported outside a Transit Road store involving a customer who was arguing with a store associate and then threw something, hitting the associate in the face. The customer left in a van.

+ On South Forest Road a landlord complained that the tenants moved out in the morning and now there was a couple in the apartment refusing to move and verbally threatening the complainant. The landlord said he did not know who the people were and wanted them removed. Border Patrol was also notified.

+ A disturbance involving people standing in the bed of a pick-up truck, screaming was reported on American Campus Drive.

Wednesday, May 2

+ A Windermere Boulevard resident reported her daughter was shot with a BB gun by a 12-year-old boy at a playground. The girl did not require first aid and the BB gun was tagged.

+ A 911 call was placed by a Wyeth Lane resident about an argument between a woman and her son over a set of keys. The line went dead and the woman called back, saying she had the keys back.

+ A Sprucewood Terrace resident called police about a neighbor who allows their dog to play in the street. Reportedly the dog's owners would throw a ball for it down the street and let it chase after the ball.

+ Two neighbors on Dodge Road needed police assistance about an argument involving property lines and grass cutting.

+ A school bus fire was reported on Julianna Court. Reportedly the bus was evacuated and no one was hurt. The children were put on another bus.

Thursday, May 3

+ Someone complained that teens were sitting on the slides at the Windermere Boulevard playground, blocking the stairs so the younger children couldn't use the equipment. The caller said they were asked to move and wouldn't.

+ A Niagara Falls Boulevard store employee reported a male customer threw a chair at the complainant.

+ An intoxicated customer was told to leave a Niagara Falls Boulevard establishment, but he couldn't tell the complainant where he lived.
