Temple Beth Zion to open pre-K program in the fall 2007

Registration is open for a new prekindergarten class designed to be a bridge between a preschool 4-year-old class and a kindergarten program.

The Play And Learn School, also known as PALS, at Temple Beth Zion's Broder Center, 700 Sweet Home Road, Amherst, will be opening a new classroom to serve the needs of those children who miss the Dec. 1 cutoff date for entrance to kindergarten or those who would benefit from an extra year of a preschool experience.

The class will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., five days a week, with extended morning and afternoon plans available.

"As we set up this classroom, we are including state-of-the-art educational centers, securing highly qualified staff and hiring specialists for science, creative arts and language enrichment to facilitate learning in our new pre-K class," said Stacey Block, co-chairwoman of the PALS PTA board.
