Camperall accepting applications The Greater Niagara Frontier Council will present its Camperall, which includes over 30 midway events, Friday to Sunday, May 18 to 20, to celebrate 100 years of scouting. Rocket launches, jugglers, police horses, military personnel, rock climbing, kite flying, fly fishing, model airplanes, nature programs with wild animals, fire trucks and demonstrations along with slot car racing will be among the attractions at the Camperall, according to Midway Chairman Glenn Gordon. "This is a very rare time when you have all the troops in the council get together, and that's what makes this so meaningful," said Camperall Chairman Steve Dubois, scoutmaster of Troop 85, based at the Williamsville United Methodist Church. "All registered scouts should make an effort to be there." Boy Scouts, Ventures, Explorers and Varsity are eligible to camp overnight Friday to Sunday morning. Cub Scouts can register for the daytime portion of the Camperall but may also camp with their affiliated Boy Scout troop with one-on-one leadership. Registration is recommended as soon as possible. More information or registration forms can be obtained online at wnyscouting.org; at the council office, 2860 Genesee St., Cheektowaga; or by calling 891-4073. |
