E-ZPass tags are available at WNY Wegmans stores

Wegmans is now offering state Thruway E-ZPass tags through a new program.

"Through the On-the-Go program, Thruway customers can purchase an E-ZPass tag at off-Thruway retail locations, such as Wegmans, and begin using it instantly and benefit from its convenience and time savings," said Michael R. Fleischer, executive director of the Thruway.

Under the new program, all Wegmans will sell E-ZPass On-the-Go tags for $25. That amount will be credited to the purchaser's E-ZPass account.

"The ability to purchase E-ZPass in our stores is one more element of one-stop-shopping convenience for our customers," said Jo Natale, Wegmans' director of media relations.

E-ZPass provides a savings of 10 percent compared to using cash to pay for tolls for passenger vehicles. On-the-Go tags are not available for commercial vehicles.
