Sacred Heart shuts out St. Mary's

Sacred Heart softball improved to 2-0 in the Monsignor Martin Association and 2-1 overall after defeating St. Mary's of Lancaster, 13-0, on Monday, April 30.

Erica Comisso threw a three-hitter and struck out eight for her second win of the season.

Sacred Heart scored one run in the first, five in the second, three in the fourth and another four in the sixth.

In the first, Allison Pyszczynski doubled in Jenn Martin, who reached by a single.

In the fifth, Martin singled in Allison Gravelle and Lindsay Macaluso doubled to drive in Katie Salisbury and Martin. Pyszczynski and Comisso singles scored Macaluso and Pyszczynski, respectively. Comisso scored on a Brieanna Brink single and Brink was brought home on a Pam Formoso infield out.

In the sixth, JV callup Caitlin Schenk singled and scored after a Salisbury single. Martin drove in Gravelle and Macaluso tripled in Salisbury and Martin.
