Sweet Home wins league games

The Sweet Home varsity softball team recorded their second ECIC Division I victory by defeating ranked Jamestown, 7-0, on Monday, April 30.

Amanda Cannizzo pitched a complete game, allowing only two hits and striking out five. Leading the way offensively were Jessica Forti (2 for 3, double, two RBIs, two runs scored), Rachel Cimerman (2 for 3 RBI, run scored), Kelly Weber (2 for 4, run scored), Cannizzo (1 for 3, two runs scored), Heather Kolbas (1 for 3), Natalie Vazquez (run scored, RBI), Nadia Durno (RBI) and Krista Prentice (RBI).

Sweet Home recorded its first league victory by defeating ranked Frontier, 3-1, on Thursday, April 26. Cannizzo pitched a complete game five-hitter and struck out six. Forti led the way offensively, going two for three at the plate.

Weber scored twice for the Lady Panthers. Weber, Lauren Prentice and Durno also played stellar in the outfield.

Weber and Prentice also saved four runs, throwing out two runners at home.
