Pupils at Heim Middle School aren't forgetting their four-legged friends.
The school's Special People Care for Animals Club, along with the Teacher Parent Student Association, is helping out the Buffalo Animal Shelter with an adoption fair at the school.
Two adoption fairs will be held: from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, kittens and cats will be featured, and from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 10, puppies and dogs will be on hand. Both will be held in the school's auditorium at 175 Heim Road.
Pet Adoption Wagon Service will be parked in front of the school during adoption times to assist anyone looking to adopt.
In preparation for the event, the SPCA Club at Heim Middle has been sewing catnip toys for cats and kittens at the shelters. Also, donations will be accepted during the adoption hours.
The Buffalo Animal Shelter is in need of cat and dog food, treats, litter and litter boxes, new toys, including Kong toys for dogs, and new or gently used blankets and towels. Cleaning supplies, such as brooms, paper towels, laundry detergent, bleach and Dawn dish soap are also needed.
