Republican Committee to honor Mohan with Lincoln Leadership Award

Erie County Republican Committee Chairman James Domagalski has announced that Amherst Town Supervisor Satish Mohan has been named the recipient of the 2007 Abraham Lincoln Leadership Award.

The award is presented annually to a leader within the Republican Party and Erie County. Mohan will receive the Lincoln Leadership Award at a reception held in his honor on May 3 in Buffalo.

"It will be my great honor to present Dr. Mohan with the Lincoln Leadership Award," Domagalski said. "Through his leadership and vision for Amherst, Supervisor Mohan has demonstrated that effective and efficient government can work for the taxpayers, not against them.

"He has proven that political newcomers, with the right message and approach, can win elections and motivate voters," Domagalski continued. "And most importantly, Supervisor Mohan has inspired many people who had lost faith in government leaders."

He added, "Mohan was elected running on a platform of solid Republican principles, and he governs by consistently looking out for the best interests of the taxpayers. As a result, Dr. Mohan is respected not only in Amherst, but throughout Erie County and Western New York."
