Motorcycle crashes through post office window

When 19-year-old Derek J. Fogarty lost control of his motorcycle it took off on its own, crashing through the front window of the U.S. Postal Service office at 5423 Sheridan Drive.

According to Amherst police, Fogarty was riding his motorcycle on Sheridan Drive about 12:30 p.m. on April 24 when he lost control. In the fall from the motorcycle, he suffered abrasions to his left ankle.

No one inside the post office was injured.

Fogarty was issued a summons for operating out of class.
