UB students congratulate city school on achievements

A business and professional communication class from the University at Buffalo held a dance for students and teachers at Hillery Park Elementary School in Buffalo on Friday to celebrate achievements of sixth, seventh and eighth-graders.

The dance was coordinated by the UB students as part of their After Class Productions. Hillery Park students had a hand in selecting the theme, music, food, and activities for the dance by completing a survey.

The dance, held at the school on Pawnee Parkway, had the whole works with a disc jockey and prizes.

After Class Productions chose to work with the school based on the success of a similar project last year and the enthusiasm of Hillery Park's staff and students. In order to attend the dance, students had to demonstrate success in their studies and following school rules.

After Class Productions is a UB student group that is dedicated to holding community events that benefit the region.
