Wendy's robbery allegedly connected to employees Two employees have been arrested in the April 17 robbery of Wendy's on Transit Road at Wehrle Drive. Amherst police Capt. Timothy Green said two suspects have been charged with robbery: Jamieson Lococo, 20, of Amherst and Brandyn Sumpter, 17, of Buffalo. "These two employees helped to set up the robbery and for people to commit the robbery," Green said. He added that one of the two was working at the time and purposely left the door ajar to allow the second suspect to gain entry. The second suspect was charged in connection with taking the money from the manager. Green said some details are not being released as the investigation is continuing into whether anyone else was involved. Detective Sgt. John Piracci and Detective Steve Hehr are credited with making the arrests. Police also are still investigating a burglary that occurred between April 18 and 19 at St. James Lutheran Church on North Forest Road at Maple Road. A rear window was broken to gain entry and a fax machine, digital camera, CD player and postage stamps were taken from an office. Police estimate the loss at $250. |
