Eggertsville child dies after being run over by car

A 22-month-old child died yesterday afternoon after being run over by a car shortly before 11 a.m. in front of her home at 71 Cornell Ave., Eggertsville.

The child was identified as Collett McCrea. Firefighters reported her mother, Kristen, was backing a car out of the garage and was not aware the child was outside.

When emergency responders arrived the mother had taken the child into the house and was administering first aid. Twin City paramedics rushed the child to Women and Children's Hospital. Amherst police are investigating.
