Teens allegedly crash stolen car, leave scene Amherst police recovered a stolen vehicle on Forestview Court after a group of four teenagers allegedly hit a curb, then left the vehicle, on Friday. Assistant Chief John Askey said three 16-year-olds and one 15- year-old were located walking from the scene after two witnesses reported the accident. There was minimal damage to the vehicle and one of the youths suffered a minor injury. Police said that the vehicle, reportedly with the keys in it, was reported stolen days earlier from a Millersport Highway parking lot. One of the teens, Brian J. Perrin, 16, has been charged with criminal possession of stolen property, a felony. He also faces charges of unlawful use of a vehicle and criminal possession of a controlled substance. A 16-year-old female, the driver at the time of the accident, was charged with unlawful use of a vehicle, operating a vehicle without a license, unlawful possession of marijuana and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident. A 16-year-old male passenger is charged with unlawful use of a vehicle. The 15-year-old passenger is being handled as a juvenile. Robbery at Wendy's Amherst police are investigating a robbery that happened at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Wendy's Restaurant, 6940 Transit Road. Reportedly two suspects entered the restaurant through a back door that had been left ajar. The first suspect grabbed the female manager, turned her away from him, and ordered that she not turn around. The second suspect then grabbed the cash the manager had been counting. They left, running north on McKinley Parkway. The first suspect is described as a black or Hispanic male, approximately 6-feet tall and wearing a white hooded jacket, a mask and purple latex gloves. The only information available on the second suspect was that he or she was wearing a hooded sweatshirt. Police searched the area with the K-9 Unit, but did not locate the suspects. In another robbery report, Amherst police are investigating a home robbery that took place at 9 p.m. Thursday. A Little Robin Road couple reported that a black male, wearing all black, forced his way into the home, yielding a knife. Reportedly the man then demanded the wife give him money. She handed him a Bank of America envelope to which he demanded more money. Receiving none the man fled down the stairs and left on foot. The man is described as 18-25 years old, 6-foot tall and thin. |
