.Amherst Supervisor Satish Mohan is asking town employees and town retirees to accept Mohan's word and his "guarantee" that converting to single health care coverage prescribed by Mohan is going to be better than the health insurance coverage that they currently have. In light of all of Mohan's previous missteps and his seeming unwillingness or inability to do homework, research or to properly think plans out before putting them forth, it is no wonder town employees and town retirees have little faith in Mohan's statements.

.Election time in the Village; mayor playing politics. Changing deputy mayors is a wrong move. Sweeney is so negative, nothing will get done.

.I used to think that Dan Ward was a good balance on a town board dominated by Republicans. By the way, I happen to be a Republican. Now it seems he has become "Kindelized." The Amherst Police Department has always been a professional group, who do a good job making Amherst a safe place to live.

.To the caller still complaining about Williamsville Central Schools' spring break, you need to move on. If you can do a better job than Dr. Smith, then apply for superintendent. Dr. Howard Smith is making the best decisions for our children. Become involved and maybe you'll be better informed about why and how decisions are made. It must make you feel empowered to be allowed to complain and not to have to sign your name to it.

.I hope the election in the Village talks about the facts; about the lack of plans at the water mill. Let's focus.

.Would you like to know how your tax dollars are being wasted? Start watching your town trucks and street sweepers. Since I retired, I've made a point of observing where and when these vehicles spend their time. Stop ignoring the situation and start observing and keeping track of this abuse. Report these sightings to your town supervisor.

.When you show no loyalty to people who become a village trustee, changes should be made. Mayor Mary Lowther is right; you have to keep honesty, integrity and ability as your priority requirements for choosing a deputy mayor.

.I want to correct an impression given a few weeks ago regarding Fran Spoth and her position on the Amherst Republican Committee. I have served with Fran on the committee for 25 years. She co-chaired the sustaining membership committee two years ago and spoke at every meeting. How can you not know her unless you did not attend any meetings or didn't get your mail? She is a very hard worker, volunteering her time to scouts, schools and the public. The system isn't working, and we need new blood.

.Mayor Lowther is ineffective as a leader. I have watched things in the village go from bad to worse; for example, no plan at the mill and traffic. A lack of development is stagnating the village's economy. I think it's time she goes!

.Thank you to the teachers and administration at Mill Middle School for providing regular instruction on the spring break schooldays we had to give back. I'm glad to hear my children were taught and didn't watch moves. You held up your end of the bargain!

.I am sad to have canceled our family's vacation plans, only to have my Williamsville South children watch movies and be given free periods on April 11, 12 and 13. I thought they were going to have regular classes.

.To the person who was concerned about the farmer's market at the mill, I am Lynn Schwab, and I am the market manager. The market is not in the mill; it is an open air market in front of the mill, so we won't be using the inside of the mill. You do not have to worry about insurance; the Williamsville Business Association, which is one of our sponsors, is providing the liability insurance for our protection. As far as the five percent for yearly maintenance, I'm thinking they would want five percent kicked back into the mill; our proceeds for now will be put back into the farmer's market, but we do appreciate your concern.

.I agree with the caller about the decline of the Hartford Road area. The duplexes are a disgrace and have fallen into neglect and disrepair. I remember when this neighborhood was well kept; it's really a shame.
