Mary J. Derrico, 87, of Amherst, formerly of West Seneca, a retired restaurant co-owner, died Sunday, April 8, 2007, in Heathwood Heath Care Center, Amherst.
Born Mary Armeli, she grew up in Jamestown and attended Jamestown schools.
With her husband, Louis A., she owned and operated the Little Red Steak Hut in Akron, N.Y. from 1964 to 1973. She was also a hostess at Coachman's Inn in Clarence for over 10 years.
Mrs. Derrico enjoyed golfing and was active in Fourteen Holy Helpers Catholic Church and the Legion of Mary. She also was a member of the Leasure Beach Garden Club in Florida.
In retirement, she and and husband had a home in Hudson, Fla.
Louis, her husband of 59 years, died on July 25, 2006.
Mrs. Derrico is survived by two sons, Louis J. of Annandale, N.J. and Ralph M. of Williamsville; three sisters, Carmela Zyga of Depew, Annie Ciancio of Jamestown and Josephine Mancuso of Hamburg; and two grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 11 at Fourteen Holy Helpers Church, 1345 Indian Church Road, West Seneca.
Arrangements were made at the (Amherst Chapel) Amigone Funeral Home, 5200 Sheridan Dr. (corner of Hopkins and Sheridan).
