+ The 7:30 p.m. April 21 performance of The Amherst Players' production of "The Dining Room" is sold out. Tickets are available for the matinee performance at 1:30 p.m. April 21. Performances continue at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, and 1:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturdays, through April 21 at the Harlem Road Community Center, 4255 Harlem Road, Snyder. + The Irish Classical Theatre Co. will hold auditions for its 2007-2008 season from 6 to 10 p.m. Sunday, May 6 at the Andrews Theatre, 625 Main St., Buffalo. Two contrasting monologues, totaling no more than five minutes, are required. Those auditioning are asked to bring a professional headshot and a resume. Appointments are required by calling 853-4282. The 2007-2008 season includes "The School for Scandal," Sept. 13-Oct. 14; "Moon for the Misbegotten," Nov. 2-Dec. 2; "A Servant of Two Masters," Jan. 11-Feb. 10; "Faith Healer," Feb. 22-March 22; and Charley's Aunt," April 18-May 18.

+ Starry Night Theatre Co. will hold auditions for the one-acts "Any Body for Tea," by C.B. Gilford, directed by Lynn Metzger; and "A Mad Breakfast," by I. M. Gray, directed by Kathy Ellis Donner, from 7-9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, April 30 and May 1 at the Ghostlight Theatre, 170 Schenck St., North Tonawanda. Roles for 12 women and seven men are available. + The Ghostlight Theatre will host a live Pampered Chef demonstration at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 22 at 170 Schenck St., North Tonawanda. All purchases will support the theatre's restoration fund.

+ The Arts Council in Buffalo & Erie County has been awarded $20,000 from Key Foundation to support a program that assists not-for-profit cultural organizations to become more competitive by implementing programs specifically to generate earned income. For more information, call 856-7520.

+ Tickets are now on sale for "Jack Hanna's Animal Adventure," 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, at Shea's Performing Arts Center, 646 Main St., Buffalo. + Songwriting lyrics are sought for the "Oceans of Love - The Song the World Wrote," to benefit the BC Cancer Foundation and another international cancer research organization to be determined. The contest is Web-based, with lyricists able to enter a line for the song. Visitors to the Web site will vote at the end of each week to determine which entry will become the next line of the song. + Spring/summer hours for the Tifft Nature Preserve are: Through Oct. 8, open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays. Through Sunday, Sept. 30, the visitor center cabin will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays, and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays. The Tifft Nature Preserve is located at 1200 Fuhrmann Blvd., Buffalo.
