Spider-Man Unmasked: UB presents behind the scenes look at a Hollywood stunt man

The Center for the Arts at the University at Buffalo will present Spider-Man Unmasked at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 20 in the Mainstage Theatre at the Center for the Arts, North Campus, 103 Center for the Arts.

Those who know Spider-Man, know that, "With great power comes great responsibility." And since 2001, nobody has shouldered the physical weight of being Spider-Man more than award-winning Hollywood stunt man Chris Daniels.

For an exclusive look from behind the mask, Daniels reveals the secrets of his craft in an interactive and multi-media lecture presentation.

Daniels has performed in the Indiana Jones stunt show at MGM studios in Orlando, and on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" - where he fell from a 75-foot tall prop. He also threw himself in front of a speeding cab in "Just My Luck."

He is best known for being Tobey Maguire's stunt man in the Spider-Man movies. For his work on the Spider-Man 2, Daniels was awarded the 2005 Taurus World Stunt Award for Best Overall Stunt by a Stunt Man.

During his presentation on April 20, Daniels will take the audience through his props bag, demonstrate with volunteers how to simulate a fight scene, show behind-the-scenes clips and share some of the most heart-stopping stunts from his career.

Tickets are $11 and are available at the Center Box Office from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. They are also available at Ticketmaster locations, including www.ticketmaster.com. For information, call 645-ARTS (2787) or visit www.ubcfa.org.
