Amherst Chamber of Commerce names 2007 Small Business Award winners

The 2007 Amherst Chamber of Commerce Small Business Award honorees will be recognized at the chamber's annual Small Business Awards Luncheon.

The luncheon, sponsored by M&T Bank and hosted by the Chamber's Small Business Council, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 4 at Samuel's Grande Manor, 8750 Main St., Clarence.

Lunch and the program will begin at noon. The cost is $25 per person for members and $30 per person for nonmembers. Corporate tables of 10 are available for $300 for members and $400 for nonmembers.

The keynote speaker will be Marsha Henderson, vice president of external affairs at the University at Buffalo.

This year's award winners include:

+ 2007 Small Business Person of the Year - Angie Kleeh, president of Triple Track at The Synergy Group, located in East Amherst. Kleeh is a founding partner of The Synergy Group, of which Triple Track is the newest division.

+ 2007 At Your Service Award - Vaspian LLC of Buffalo. Vaspian is a provider of carrier-grade, VOIP-hosted phone service and high-speed Internet access to businesses across Western New York. The company recently moved into new facilities at 266 Oak St. in Buffalo because of substantial growth.

+ 2007 Zenith Award - Lougen, Valenti, Bookbinder & Weintraub LLP of Amherst. The certified public accounting firm provides accounting, tax and consulting services in Western New York.

+ 2007 Champion Award - John Chmarney, owner of The Growth Coach, a consulting firm in Williamsville that focuses on business success and personal growth.

+ 2007 Innovation Award - Dr. Laurel M. White, OB/GYN, of Buffalo. Dr. White is investing heavily in new technology in her field and is in the process of planning to build a new medical facility at 136 Maple Road, Amherst.
