Gleason's Gymnastics
Penberthy places fourth all-around

Luck was with the Niagara gymnastic teams from Gleason's School of Gymnastics as they competed on St. Patrick's Day.

The Level 8 Niagara team took first place at the Lucky Stars Invitational gymnastics meet held at Jamestown Community College.

Competing in her final invitational gymnastics meet, Sweet Home High School senior Jamie Farrell scored 9.1, good for 11th place on floor exercise. Farrell also placed 12th on bars and 13th on balance beam with 8.825 in the 15-18 age division. Casey Middle School seventh grader Lily Jagodzinski scored high in the 12-year old division. Jagodzinski placed third on bars, eighth on vault, ninth on beam and floor and eighth all-around.

For the Level 6 team, Sweet Home Middle sixth grader Lydia Penberthy placed fourth all-around with a score of 35.00. She took third on beam with a 9.2, fifth on bars and floor (8.925), and ninth on vault with an 8.725.

Competing on the Level 4 team, ages 9 to 11, Meghan Aronica scored 9.0 on both the bars and vault and 8.55 on the floor. Aronica is a fifth grader at Willow Ridge Elementary.

St. Christopher's second grader Abby DeCicco competed in the 6 to 8 year-old division. DeCicco medaled on three events and the all-around. She scored an impressive 9.15 on the bars, 8.70 on beam, and 8.775 on the floor. Her scores earned her tenth, seventh, and ninth place, respectively. Her all around total of 35.825 placed her in eighth place for the all-around competition.
