Gymnast Greiner shines in national spotlight

Gage Greiner represented Greater Buffalo Gymnastics & Fitness Center at the Dusty Ritter Black Jack Invitational in Las Vegas, Nev.

The four-day competition was attended by gymnasts from all across the country and had representatives from the Northeast to Los Angeles to Anchorage, Alaska.

As a standout Level 7 gymnast, Greiner competed in the 10-11 age group, which represented only a small selection of those who attended the Black Jack Invitational. However, his efforts proved to be anything but small. His outstanding performances on vault and still rings earned him scores of 8.950 and 8.4, respectively.

Greiner battled through the next few events, where he really began to excel. His pommel horse routine scored an 8.65, which placed him fourth overall.

He is coached by Scott McKee of Greater Buffalo Gymnastics & Fitness Center. He is the son of Garry and Victoria Greiner of Lockport.
