+ MISCOMMUNICATION - Unfortunately, the Williamsville Central School District hadn't updated board member Carolyn Giambra's e-mail information prior to my attempts to report her intentions on seeking re-election. The article in last week's Bee was intended to inform those interested in running on how they could do so. Unbeknownst to me I e-mailed Giambra at an address she no longer uses. Last week I reported that she did not respond to a request for comment, but to set the record straight, she never received the message.

+ OUT OF THE OFFICE - I will be out of the office Thursday, March 29 and Friday, March 30 to represent The Bee Group Newspapers at the New York State Press Association spring convention and trade show in Saratoga Springs. I hope to return with good news that the newspaper and its writers were honored with awards. While I am out of the office please direct your questions or other communication to copy editor Beth Hutchinson at 204-4919.

This will be the second time I have had the opportunity to attend the conference. In spring 2003 my journalism class at Oswego State College was selected to attend, and I found the event extremely informative. This time, as a professional, I look forward to fine-tuning my writing skills.

+ TEE TIME - Town of Amherst Recreation Department golf cards will go on sale Monday, April 2 at the Recreation Department office in the Pepsi Center, 1615 Amherst Manor Drive. For information, call 631-7132.
