BNP offers roundtable discussion

Marsh, a risk management firm, will host a free roundtable panel discussion on brownfields in Western New York at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 4 at the Buffalo Niagara Partnership, Knox Room, 665 Main St. City of Buffalo Commissioner Richard Tobe, Buffalo Niagara Enterprise President Thomas Kucharski, Department of Environmental Conservation regional engineer Martin Doster, local developer Peter L. Krog, CB Richard Ellis managing director Jeffrey LiPuma (of the HealthNow project) and Damon & Morey attorney Christopher Ahlers will discuss opportunities and barriers for redeveloping vacant industrial or commercial sites that may need environmental remediation. City mission launches new program

The Buffalo City Mission recently launched the Corporate Compassion Roundtable, a group of local business leaders who will collaborate to curtail the growing problem of homelessness in Western New York. The group's creation comes on the heels of staggering new numbers of people who are homeless. The Department of Housing and Urban Development estimates 754,000 nationally without homes in 2005. Buffalo's First hosts speaker at breakfast meeting
