Knights, Lionesses win Lions Club Ladies Classic
Amherst area well represented in senior all-star girls hoops affair

      All-star games aren't exactly known for their displays of defensive strategy, and while the score of the second of last Saturday's two senior girls all-star basketball games would seem to fit that lack-of-defense stereotype, nothing could be further from the truth.

Sweet Home hockey earns respect
Marko, Mohney, Campise earn All-State first team honors

      Last year, nobody in New York State knew Sweet Home had a hockey team. This year, everybody knows, as evidenced by juniors Ryan Marko and Derek Mohney and senior Paul Campise being selected to the Division II All-State first team. Senior forward Alex Esposito earned honorable mention.

      The Level 5 team from Stumpf's Gymnastics Center competed in the Lucky Stars Invitational hosted by Stroups Gymnastics in Jamestown, N. Y. The team endured some strict judging and finished with nine girls placing in the all-around finals and two gymnasts winning first place on individual events.

      The optional teams from Stumpf's Gymnastics Center won first-place honors at the Lucky Stars Invitational hosted by Stroups Gymnastics of Jamestown. Individually, the girls were also unbeatable, with three winning all-around titles and each girl placing in the all-around finals.
