Pee Wee White Sabres bruise Bruins in playoff win

In a tough game, the Pee Wee White Sabres beat the Boston Bruins, 4-1 on Sunday afternoon.

The playoffs have been amazingly tight this season, and this matchup was an excellent example. The scoring started for the White Sabres early in the first period when Adam Russell, from Max Fenter and Angelo Caruso, tapped in the puck. Six minutes later, White Sabre Dylan Scinta, from Kyle Zurak, took the puck down the ice and scored to make it 2-0. The White Sabres' defensive crew of Gabe Feuerstein, Brendan Mazurek, Dan DeMeester, Tyler Casselman and Zurak kept the Bruins offense searching for scoring opportunities throughout the game.

Bruins goalie Todd Huber faced a barrage of shots from the White Sabres and he played an outstanding game. Early in the second period, Kyle Zurak scored his first of two goals in the game from a pretty pass from Nick Carrubba to put the White Sabres ahead, 3-0.

Not to be out done, the Bruins' Derrick Aichinger scored to cut the deficit to 3-1. Tough play throughout the game and an amazing amount of penalties kept the action going and the pressure on. The White Sabres' Dominic Cinelli, Blake Carson and Fenter were constantly fighting for the puck and working the corners. White Sabres goalie Sean Martin played another stellar game.

The White Sabres were out for points as the race to Super Sunday continued and John Moore, Adam Russell and Caruso did their part. The scoring ended with Zurak's second goal, unassisted, at the close of the second period that that put the White Sabres up, 4-1.

The Bruins' Dylan Cottrell and Tyler Utz were standouts for their team.

The White Sabres will meet the Stars on Thursday night.
