Gray Sabres defeat Gold

The Micron Gray Sabres came ready to play the Gold Sabres on Friday, winning 6-1.

Alec Cicero netted the first two goals of the game on his way to a hat trick. Sean Macleay (two goals) and Lorenzo Zendano (goal) used their speed to help pad the Gray Sabre lead.

Spencer Frome, Matt Bielinski, Collin Mack, Miles Izdorczak, and Charleigh Rondeau put forth a tremendous defensive effort, keeping the Gold Sabres outside of their zone. Andrew Bruno, Ryan Meade, and Jack Ohle skated hard to push the puck up the ice to give the Gray Sabres every opportunity to score. Once again, goalie Vincent Orlowski answered the call, standing on his head to stop the Gold Sabres from scoring.

The Gold Sabres would not go down without a fight. Ryan Curtin stole the puck and went hard to the net to score the lone goal for the Gold Sabres. Anthony Trigilio, Jakob Wehr, Ray Faran, Paul Cartone, Michael Kaplan, and John Courtney kept the pressure on the Gray Sabres by storming the blue line on the attack. Elizabeth Sidorski, Victoria Pitman, and Alex Pronobis played inspiring defense, frustrating the efforts of the Gray Sabres. Goaltender Thomas Peers was solid.
