A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 21 in St. Benedict's Church, Main Street at Eggert Road, Eggertsville, for Jerome "Jerry" Hooven, Sr.

Mr. Hooven, 76, a long-time Amherst resident and a retired office manager for AAA of Western and Central New York, died Saturday, March 17, 2007.

Mr. Hooven was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was past president of the Amherst Central Lions Club and the Buffalo Passenger Association.

A long-time member of St. Benedict's Church, he also belonged to the Amherst Amvets Post No. 49 and St. Benedict's Holy Name Society.

Mr. Hooven is survived by his wife, Agnes Schubring; two sons, Jerome Jr. and Michael; three daughters, Maureen Siska, Susan Milhern and Barbara; and nine grandchildren. Arrangements were made by the Dengler & Roberts Funeral Home.
