Police search for suspects

Amherst police are looking for two suspects who attacked a man outside his Maple Road apartment complex on Wednesday.

The suspects are described as two black males, approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall and in their early 20s.

They approached the victim at approximately 6:45 p.m. in the parking lot of 790 Maple Road. They were in a dark red Lincoln with tinted windows.

They grabbed the man by the arm, a struggle ensued and the man was struck in the face.

A motorist reportedly pulled into the parking lot, witnessed the attack and startled the suspects. They fled with an empty blue nylon lunch bag that the victim was carrying.

Police continue to search for the suspects and are investigating the possibility that the men followed the victim from his jewelry store located in Buffalo, looking for merchandise.
