Fitness center hosts snack contest

Club 50 Fitness Center will hold a healthy snack contest in conjunction with National Nutrition Month to benefit the American Diabetes Association.

The contest will be held on Wednesday, March 28 at the fitness center, 708 Maple Road at North Forest. Participants should register their entry by calling 689-6135 by Friday, March 23.

The day of the contest, entries that are not preregistered must be brought in by 4:30 p.m. and all other entries at 5 p.m. Each entry is $1 to be donated to the ADA.

Participants are to bring a copy of their recipe, eight pieces of the snack on a plate for the judges and the remainder of the snack on a separate plate. Disposable plates should be used, as they will not be returned.

Entries will be judged on appearance, taste and nutritional value. Judges for the contest include local celebrities, and prizes will be awarded.

Attendees can donate $1 to sample the snacks and will be entered into a door prize drawing. For information, call 689-6135.
