Business News Dr. William F. Wieczorek of Amherst and director of the Center for Health and Social Research at Buffalo State College has been awarded a $15,900 grant to spearhead study and evaluation of techniques to improve the safety of patients and health care workers during lifting and movement. He and his staff will work directly with grant sponsor Western New York Council on Occupational Safety and Health and three participating health care facilities in Western New York. Malkowski of Williamsville and a Hauptman Woodward research scientist, has received a $1.7 million grant from the National Institutes of Health in support of his work to better understand the biological processes that occur as the human body reacts to anti-inflammatory medications. Betsy Eberle, owner of New Angle Design Interiors, was featured as a guest on WUTV's "Buffalo Matters" on March 18. The interview highlighted both her work and her experience as a client of the Women's Business Center at Canisius College. Cold Stone Creamery, 8124 Transit Road, recently donated $4,200 to Women and Children's Hospital of Buffalo. The funds will go toward the construction of the neurosurgery operating room. Dudzik Chiropractic, 8835 Sheridan Drive, Williamsville, has expanded its practice with the addition of Dr. Stephanie Pautler. She is a graduate of New York Chiropractic College. |
