Circle of Life Chiropractic and Wellness provides overall sense of well-being
by JESSICA L. FINCH Associate Editor

Dr. Molly Lenihan
Dr. Molly Lenihan believes in personal attention, a relaxing atmosphere and a complete body assessment when working on her patients at Circle of Life Chiropractic and Wellness in Williamsville.

"The body has innate healing power, and I adjust the body to facilitate that," she said.

Lenihan uses a muscle-releasing technique that addresses the whole body. If a patient comes in complaining of only neck pain, the chiropractor said she will assess the whole body, not just one localized pain. She also takes a history of the patient, including diet, activity level, work atmosphere and stress concerns.

"It's important not to rush a patient out," she said. "Knowing the history helps with treatment. I don't just focus on the one pain but instead the overall person."

Lenihan's office, located at 5353 Main St., Suite 4, at South Long Street, offers a living-room atmosphere. She said many people seeing a chiropractor are nervous at first, and she said it's important to put them as much at ease as she can.

She provides adjustments and release of muscle tension to reduce pain in tightened areas.

Lenihan is a graduate of New York State Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls and is state-licensed. After working in a Cheektowaga-based chiropractic office and gaining experience, Lenihan decided to open her own practice, something she had always wanted to do.

"As soon as the patient gets off the table, they have a big smile and say they feel relaxed and loose," she said. "After visits, they sleep better and have a better immune system."

Up to date on the latest technology, Lenihan worked as a certified medical assistant before going to school to be a chiropractor.

"I really wanted a more direct role in patient care," she said, adding that she also offers wellness care where patients can come in even if they don't have a pain or problem.
