Virginia Tech reaches final

Those who came to see an exciting game were not disappointed as Virginia Tech and Florida State squared off in the final round of Amherst Youth Basketball's seventh grade division. Virginia Tech defeated Florida State, 41-32, and is headed to the championship game.

Mark Pitman's baseline jumper in the second quarter sparked Virginia Tech's fire and got the team going. Mike Kyarunts, Adam Panfil and Andrew Poturalski provided hustle in scoring baskets. David Berkun's skill on the offense was strong from start to finish. Jake Greibner fought hard for rebounds in this physical game, and Danny Schlein closely protected the basket.

Tommy Kline had an exceptional game for Florida State with many payoff trips to the bucket.
