Robert Everitt, 80, of Williamsville, a retired German and American History teacher, died Sunday, March 4, 2007, in Memory Care Unit, Wedgewood Healthcare Facility.
Born in Milton, Pa., Mr. Everitt graduated from Milton High School, received a bachelor's degree from Bucknell University and master's degrees in German, history, and education from Bucknell and Kent State University.
He served in the US Army from 1944 to 1947.
Mr. Everitt taught German and American History at Williamsville South High School from 1964 until his retirement in 1985. He also taught at Williamsville North during this time.
After retirement, he worked as a substitute teacher in the Williamsville secondary schools, taught German part-time at Pembroke High School for two years and worked at Literacy Volunteers teaching English as a second language for five years.
Mr. Everitt is survived by his wife off 55 years, Rachel; a daughter, Barbara Radmore of Mexico, Maine; a brother, Ralph of Tucson, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.
Services were held Thursday, March 8 from St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Williamsville where he was a long-time member.
