Teen arrested after allegedly striking Amherst police officer Amherst police responded to a fight involving 15 teens at 11:30 p.m. Friday at a Glenhaven Drive address and subsequently arrested a 16-year-old male for allegedly hitting an officer. Police located a group of teens walking from the site where a fight had been reported. When police questioned the group, Tyquane Palmer, of Amherst, reportedly started to swear and shout at the officers before allegedly hitting the hand of an officer who had been holding a flashlight. During the altercation police used pepper spray to subdue Palmer. He has been charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct. obstructing government administration and second-degree harassment. In an unrelated incident, police arrested three males for marijuana possession following a traffic stop at 12:15 p.m. Sunday on Sheridan Drive. Officers were responding to a suspicious person report on MacArthur Drive, spotted three males in a red Mercury Sable and stopped the vehicle. The K-9 unit was requested to search the vehicle, and 17 grams of marijuana were located. Charged with criminal possession of marijuana in a public place were Joshua M. Klenke, 19 and Jeffrey Klenke, 21, both of Tonawanda, and Samuel Perpetus, 18, of Williamsville. Officers Jim Jackson, Bruce Mann and Herbert Leising made the arrests. |
