Squirt Major 'AAA' posts 3-2 victory, plays in state finals this weekend

The Squirt Major "AAA" hockey team had a nice 3-2 win against Monroe on Friday night at the Amherst Pepsi Center.

Eric Benshadle started the scoring with a beautiful breakaway goal that went top shelf. Dennis Gilbert broke away from the pack on the power play, deked two Monroe defensemen and went top shelf to tie it up for Amherst. Gilbert flipped the puck across the crease to Connor Schutte, who scored for the game winner.

Tucker Weppner was strong in net, making some great saves. Amherst will face Monroe this weekend in the state finals.
