Flyers post second victory in playoffs, 10-2

The Squirt Flyers beat the Wolves, 10-2, against the Wolves in game two of the playoff series on Sunday at the Amherst Pepsi Center.

In their most explosive game of the season, the Flyers lit up the scoreboard first when Gregory Sibick's quick stick-handling put one in between the pipes. Eight minutes later, Sibick scored again when he outshined the Wolves' defense for a sweet goal. With twenty seconds left in the first period, Peter Masters took advantage of an assist from Austin Gallagher, sped down the ice and lobbed one in for his team's third goal.

The second period was no less impressive when Nicholas Schiappa scored on an assist from Mark Christy marking the Flyers' fourth goal. Thirsty for more action, Schiappa made a strategic pass to teammate Sibick who went on to score the fifth goal for the Flyers with a shot over the shoulder of the Wolves' goalie.

Sibick's third goal of the day for his team marked his second hat trick for the season.

With thirty seconds to go in the second period, Christy raced down the ice and fired a wrist shot on the Wolves' goalie that bounced into the net scoring the sixth goal for his team.

The third period was dominated by Flyer action beginning with an early goal by Trevor Shaw. Shaw scored his team's seventh goal on a rebound shot that was impossible to stop.

The Flyers continued to come on hard when James Mueller lit up the scoreboard for his team's eighth goal. Mueller's dogged determination finally won out so he could score his first goal of the season. Nine was a good number for Flyers' Amir Gulati when he scored an unassisted ninth goal for his team on a breakaway up the middle.

Flyers defenseman Austin Gallagher scored the tenth goal for his team when he slammed the puck down the ice and it slid in between the pipes.

Flyers goalie Bryan Cowing made numerous key saves. Outstanding Flyer plays were also made by Anthony Macchia, Eric Bailey and Dean Battaglia.

Nolan Burch and Erica Dombrowski scored for the Wolves.
