Micron Division
Rossi comes up huge in White Sabre shootout win

Tyler Rossi left the seemingly unstoppable Micron White Sabres scratching their heads as the Black Sabres goalie led his team to a 9-5 shootout win on Sunday over the White Sabres.

In what turned out to be a high scoring affair, White Sabre goalie Cameron Hogan played solid as he repelled numerous Black Sabre attacks.

Rossi faced a similar barrage of sniper fire, robbing White Sabres a number of times of sure goals.

White Sabre star Patrick Gilbert started the scoring melee with a wrist shot to the top shelf. This would be the first of Gilbert's four goals for the game, giving the White Sabres the lead. However, Kevin Halpern and Eric Metz both found the goal, each netting a hat trick. Jack Smith added two for the Black Sabres and Eric Cretella and Zach Rehbaum each added a solo shot for their teams.

Despite the score, this game was packed with solid defense and fast action. The White Sabre defense fought in the corners and clawed for rebounds, while Hogan scrambled to cover up loose pucks. The Black Sabre defense anchored the middle ground forcing the White Sabres outside the zone with Rossi closing the door behind them.
