Name missing from birth certificate causes disturbance

Friday, Feb. 23

+ On Hopkins Road a resident reported that a group of youths ran into a house and then put furniture in the street. A plastic chair was removed from the street by the patrol.

+ A town resident reported a $6,300 engagement ring had been taken from the house. Two suspects were considered.

+ Police advised a Harlem Road family after the daughter called 911. Police determined that there was plenty of food in the house.

Saturday, Feb. 24

+ A cab driver reported witnessing a group of 15-20 youths who were pushing each other into the street on Allenhurst Road. The group was gone when police arrived.

+ On South Union Road an apartment reportedly smelled like marijuana and had been an ongoing problem.

+ A large black bag was left outside the front door of a bank on Sheridan Drive, and the complainant was watching it from his car. The owner had left it there when he went in to check his account.

+ Harassment was reported at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital involving the father of one of the babies in the maternity unit. He was upset that his name wasn't on the birth certificate and said, "Someone on the staff is going down."

+ A one-legged turkey was reported in a parking lot on Niagara Falls Boulevard. Police reported that the bird had two legs and was hopping along just fine.

Sunday, Feb. 25

+ Two or three youths were reportedly throwing chunks of ice at passing motorists on Walton Way. They were gone when police arrived.

+ A customer at a Sheridan Drive store reported that a man looked under the door while the complainant was in the fitting room. The suspect left the store on foot.

+ On Millersport Highway, a woman called from her car while stuck in the carwash, which stopped in the middle of the cycle. She was freed by the owner.

+ Police were called to a Tonawanda Creek Road residence where a 23-year-old intoxicated male was being restrained by roommates after he and another male were fighting. One of the men was picked up by his parents.

Monday, Feb. 26

+ A projector was reported stolen from a business on Main Street.

+ On Youngs Road, four or five gasoline cans were leaking and in the roadway.

+ On Grandview Drive, a 3-year-old girl had been locked out of her house without a coat and was screaming for 15 minutes. A man took the child into his house, and then a female took the child back to her duplex. The mother reportedly had gone next door to drop something off, and the child woke up while she was gone.

Tuesday, Feb. 27

+ A complainant stated that at least 30 people were in the roadway on Creekside Drive and blocking one lane of traffic and would not move. Police found no problem, and the people were just waiting at a bus stop.

+ A Longmeadow Road resident complained that someone broke his doorbell, and it was an ongoing problem. No damage was reported by police.

+ An Eggert Road resident reported that two flower pots and an American flag had been taken from the front yard overnight.

+ A boy on Windermere Boulevard was hit near the eye with a pellet from an airgun.

Wednesday, Feb. 28

+ On Arielle Court a man reported that a friend punched out the complainant's car window. The victim did not want to prosecute, and the suspect reportedly had been dared to do it.

+ A man in his 30s, wearing a Wendy's hat, was standing outside a Sheridan Drive business wanting free food.

+ A woman reported that a female passed out in her son's bed on Bucyrus Drive, and she was unable to wake her. As a result, the female was taken to police headquarters for harassment and resisting arrest.

+ A Forest Stream Road resident complained that there was an injured deer in his yard, but he would soon be leaving for basketball practice with his son.

+ A suspicious person was reportedly carrying a briefcase and walking in and out of the rear entrance of Town Hall on Main Street. Police reported that it was a stenographer who was waiting for his ride after working at Town Hall for a state hearing.

Thursday, March 1 + An employee of an Alberta Drive business confessed to stealing another employee's paycheck.

+ A baby was reportedly screaming in a vehicle after being left alone on Niagara Falls Boulevard. Paperwork for endangering the welfare of a child was issued.

+ A woman was asked to leave a Main Street salon because she was uncooperative and would not tell the complainant how to cut her hair. The suspect was reportedly laughing and talking to herself. The complainant locked the door after the suspect tried to re- enter.
