Thomas E. Ray, retired Niagara University comptroller
Thomas E. Ray, 75, of Amherst, Niagara University's comptroller for more than 20 years, died Sunday, February 25, 2007, at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital.

Born in Buffalo, Mr. Ray graduated from Nichols School in 1949 and earned a bachelor's degree from Georgetown University in 1953.
In 1972, he became employed by Niagara University as a Certified Public Accountant until his retirement in 1993.
Mr. Ray was a life member, former director and treasurer at the Buffalo Canoe Club and a member of the Buffalo Yacht Club.
He had a summer home in Holloway Beach, Ont. Canada and was an avid sailboat racer.
He was a member of Christ the King Church. Mr. Ray is survived by his wife of 51 years, the former Catherine Miller, three sons, Thomas E. Ray, Jr., Stephen D. and David M. Ray, one daughter. Elizabeth R. Weber, one sister, Susan Dillon, one brother, Michael Ray and eight grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, March 1 at Christ the King Church.
