Stumpf's Level 5 girls place second at meet

The Level 5 girls from Stumpf's Gymnastics Center recently competed in the Nickel City meet hosted by the Gymnastics Unlimited.
With six other gyms in attendance, the Stumpf's girls had a very strong showing, placing eight girls in the all-around finals, including one all-around champion. Three girls won individual events titles and the team was awarded a second place team banner. There were also three rookie gymnasts who qualified for the New York State finals in their first team meet. They are now eligible to join their teammates in Long Island this May.
The Stumpf's team dominated the younger age group, claiming six of the top ten all-around medals and three of four first place medals in the event finals. Lacey Woite's strong performance earned a career-high 36.150 all-around score and was awarded second place. Woite was also crowned uneven bars champion with a team-high 9.250 and vault champion with a 9.225. Allison Scumaci claimed third place with another career-high performance of 35.975. Additionally, Scumaci's stunning floor exercise routine earned a team-high 9.465 and was awarded first place while her 9.300 on balance beam was second. Miranda Roberson, who was fourth all-around, executed another beautiful beam routine that earned a 9.250 and a third place medal. Katie Uba, who tumbled her way to a third place 9.200 on floor, was sixth all-around. Mackenzie Donner, who executed her best vault of the season, earned a 9.025 and a third place medal. Donner was also seventh in the all-around. Teammate Rebecca Reinhardt was eighth all-around. Additionally, Reinhardt's uneven bars routine was awarded a third place medal. Emily Schulenberg, competing in her first meet, gave a sound performance, earning her best scores on vault and floor.
The ten-year-old age group belonged to all-around champion Kaily Martens. In her first victory on the road, Martens earned a 35.475 all-around and was crowned vault champion with a 9.100. Teammate Samantha Maniccia, competing in her first team meet, scored in the eights on each event and qualified for the New York State finals.
Rookie Rachel Kania, of the 11-year old group, performed a team-high 9.275 on vault and earned a third place medal. Kania was also awarded ninth all-around and earned a trip to the New York State finals. Madeline Meyer, also in her first meet, gave a solid performance, which included a tenth place finish in balance beam.
Christina Smith, of the 12 and over age group, executed a beautiful uneven bars routine that earned a 9.100 and secured third. Teammate Jackie Schactner's first meet was a success, earning her a state qualifying score.
