Stumpf's Level 9 boys earn third at classic

The upper level boys from Stumpf's Gymnastics Center competed at the Blaine Wilson Ohio Classic, hosted by two-time U.S. Olympian Blaine Wilson.
The event brought in 43 teams from 14 states and Canada. The number of individual gymnasts exceeded 600. All of the Stumpf boys performed very well, with the Level 9 team earning third place team honors, producing two separate event champions and sending three gymnasts to the event finals.
Level 8 was represented by Adam Cole and Cameron Collins, who placed seventh and eighth, respectively, in all-around competition. Cole's best events were pommel horse and parallel bars, while Collins excelled at pommel horse and rings.
The Level 9 team fielded five gymnasts. Aaron Benson, who competed in the 13-year-old division, had the team's highest finish with a 48.250 all-around that earned third place. Additionally, Benson was named the rings champion with an 8.400 and was second on vault with an 8.850.
The remainder of the team competed in the 12-year-old division. Cody Stumpf, who finished 11th in all around competition, executed a spectacular vault which earned first place honors. Michael Wozniak finished seventh all-around as well as on high bar. His best finish came on rings where he earned fourth place. Nathaniel Roberson's best events earned a pair of ninth place finishes on parallel bars and high bar while Adam Arena had a pair of 11th place finishes on vault and high bar.
Jimmy Pezzino competed for Level 10 where he finished 11th all around. Pezzino had two top ten finishes on vault (eighth) and high bar (sixth).
At the end of the competition, Benson, Stumpf and Wozniak qualified to attend the event finals the following day. Even amongst the weekend's toughest competitors, the boys performed strong. Benson finished second overall in the finals competition, as well as second on rings and vault. Stumpf finished seventh on vault and Wozniak finished sixth on rings. All of the boys are coached by Dan Molnar.
