Revolution U-12 win battle over sister team

There was a family feud on Saturday afternoon at the Epic Center. The two Amherst U-12 girls teams met for the first time this year, with the Amherst Revolution defeating the Amherst Rovers, 6-0.

Good defensive play by both teams marked the beginning of the game. Annie Garcia used a skillful left foot shot to make it 1-0. Once the Revolution scored their first goal, more goals came quickly as Alicia Girard, Margaux Gill, Sara Eichhorn and Kaitlin Walsh made it 5-0 by halftime.

As in previous games, the Revolution showed tremendous skills in dribbling, passing, and receiving the ball. Carissima Cutrona, Nika Berrafato, Francesca Carra, Angela Sobotka, Courtney Kramer, Alyssa Cartwright, Morgaine Huston, Cathryn Mohan and goalie Christine Murphy made great plays to keep the Rovers off the scoreboard.

In the second half, Gill scored her second goal and the Revolution finished off the game with a dazzling display of all around skill, sportsmanship and character to advance their record to 6-0.
