Junior Achievement plans annual Bowl-A-Thon

More than 1,800 bowlers from 60 businesses across Western New York will gather their teams together for Junior Achievement of Western New York's 23rd annual Bowl-A-Thon.

The pirate-themed event takes place on Saturday, March 10 at Transit Lanes, 7850 Transit Road, Williamsville.

Teams will complete in two games of bowling and contests will be held during a three-hour shift, which will begin at 9 a.m., noon, or 3 p.m.

Prior to the event, bowlers will raise pledges to support JA's business and economic education programs. Participants are then eligible for prizes based on their fundraising efforts. Top fundraisers are eligible for a bonus prize drawing for a portable DVD player, an Apple iPod Nano 2GB, or two Southwest airlines tickets.
