Amherst YES volunteers to be recognized

The Amherst Youth Engaged in Service program will honor a number of youth volunteers at an awards gathering on March 2.

Eight students will be honored as Volunteers of the Year for volunteering more than 75 hours. They are: Amanda Buckley, Meghan Cesar, Paul Cho, Cathy Lu, Julie Minick, Stephanie Mulhern, Susan Song and Lauren Stuck.

Silver Awards for volunteering 50-75 hours will be given to: Jennifer Brokob, Jay Kumar, Sean Kumar, Pam Meyerhofer, Hao Qin, David Rich, Aditiya Varanasi and Sophie Wang.

Bronze Awards will be given to students for volunteering 30-49 hours: Kelly Arana, Caroline Barrett, Maryann Bavisotto, Jacqueline Bobo, Esha Dasgupta, Anna Diakun, Tom Doscher, Elaina Giolando, Colson Gregoire, Grace Heusner, Caitlin Hodson, Anna Hoffmann, Emily Hoy, Yunchi Luo, Rachel Mulhern, Eric Nill, John Nill, Laura Posner, Richard Sima, Anita Singh, Alisha Sojar, Teresa Sprow, Emily Stoner, Julianna Wojcik and Wendy Wojcik.

YES provides the opportunity for youth, ages 12-21 to contribute and participate in volunteer projects within the community. The program currently has 600 youth members.
