Connie Mack Little League will be holding open registration from noon to 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 24 at Dick's Sporting Goods, 281 Meyer Road, Amherst.

Connie Mack offers softball and baseball to boys and girls ages 4 to 18. Their season starts with practices in mid-April (weather permitting) while scheduled games start the first week of May concluding in the last week of June.

They also have tournament teams for hardball starting at age 8. Connie Mack offers six fields, two at Garnet Park , two at Delwood Park and one at Sattler along with their T-ball field.

The highlight of the season is Connie Mack Day on Sunday, June 3. It starts with a parade led by fire engines from Eggertsville which starts at the back side of Dellwood Park and ends at Garnet Park where families will find rides, games, clowns, magicians, bands and plenty of food along with a fundraising raffle with cash and prize giveaways.

This year also brings a new president of the league, Scott Mergler. Mergler and the board of Directors have been working hard since September. The league would like to thank past president Lorri Fabian, her husband David, and Jerry Calabrese for their hard work over the years.
