Inger 'Tulle' Abbott, teacher

Inger "Tulle" Abbott, 83, of Nashua, N.H., formerly of Williamsville, a teacher, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, N.H.

Born Inger Andersen in Lebanon, Pa., her family moved to Buffalo. She graduated from Kenmore High School and Buffalo State Teachers College and taught in Buffalo area elementary schools for many years.

She was married in 1962 to Robert C. Abbott, and they settled in Williamsville, where she was a homemaker, artist, and part-time substitute teacher while raising their family.

An accomplished pianist and a skilled artist, Mrs. Abbott excelled in oil portraits, sketching and watercolors. She was a member of the Patteran Society and the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators and exhibited her work throughout her life. She loved music, poetry and nature.

Mrs. Abbott is survived by her husband of 45 years, Robert C., of Nashua, N.H.; a son, Matthew R., of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Meredith A. Vassell, of Kensington, Md.; a brother, Andrew Andersen, of Eggertsville; two sisters, Betty Pound of Belmont, Mass., and Jane Hazelrigg of New York, N.Y.; and three grandchildren.

A service was held Thursday, Feb. 15 at Davis Funeral Home in Nashua, N.H.
